You can download Black Mesa, a free Half-Life 2 total conversion remake of the original Half-Life developed by industrious modders who felt Half-Life: Source didn’t quite live up to its potential as a Source Engine port of Half-Life. This remake reintroduces the player as Doctor Gordon Freeman, along with the original cast of characters and environments seen in Half-Life. More than just a port, Black Mesa was built from the ground up in the Source Engine with new models, maps, soundtrack, voice acting and textures.
